在视角和感官体验的不断变换中,观察并重塑着周遭的日常环境;

Dramaturgy Packet: 10 Out of 12 (Emerson Stage)

10 Out of 12, Emerson Stage

10 Out of 12, Emerson Stage

“As an online resource distributed to prospective audiences, Alison created a fully interactive digital map, tracing on the geography of New York today the history at the heart of 10 Out of 12. As a dramaturgy instructor, I am always urging students to make sure that their research strategies intersect meaningfully with the themes and content of the play at hand. In efforts to locate and celebrate the history of downtown, avant-garde theater—but also, crucially, to trace that history into the present, and to imagine its future—Alison’s work as a dramaturg aligned elegantly with the play itself, enriching this production immensely. “

Theater Review: SpeakEasy Stage Company’s The Children

“Love stories and panics for aging may be set aside, but indispensable questions left unexplored. Rooted in a fictional setting in the UK while drawing inspirations from the Fukushima tsunami nuclear leak, the story presents nuance and ambiguity not in the mere solutions but the attitudes driving decisions forth. And it was clearly on the page for us—Kirkwood’s quirky writing places us in a shivering reality suggesting the smallness of life and the extremity of the world, informing us that in order to grow, one must think beyond yoga, salad, and an obsession for eternal life.”

Program Note: A Tale of Four Women (Bilingual)

Discussion Guide: Parable of the Sower (ArtsEmerson)

“Written by singer, composer and producer Toshi Reagon in collaboration with her mother, Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon, the opera Parable of the Sower features a powerhouse ensemble of 20 singers, actors and musicians to give new life to Butler’s acclaimed science fiction novel. Published in 1993, the novel touches on many of the issues we face today—global warming, corporate influence over government, a destabilized economy, water scarcity, food scarcity, the privatization of social services, homelessness, public safety, a return of long forgotten diseases and the profit-making machine that runs the medical industry. This guide is meant to serve as a toolkit in which you will find conversations and resources for the use of readers of all ages. “
